Matt is a Chartered Engineer (UK and NZ) with 19 years of experience in the rail industry in technical, management and leadership roles. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from the University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg, South Africa. He spent the first decade of his career on rollingstock procurement, maintenance and operation in the UK before relocating to NZ working on rail infrastructure maintenance programmes.
